Dr Wamala serves as a cybersecurity advisor to a host of national Governments, regulatory authorities, large private enterprises and United Nations (UN) agencies. He focuses on the strategic, technical and information assurance aspects of cybersecurity. He is the author of the ITU National Cybersecurity Strategy Guide. He also authored the ITU National Child Online Protection Strategy Guide. The ITU tasked Dr Wamala to lead a cybersecurity Expert Assistance Mission to Georgia after Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks and the defacement of government and commercial websites in the Georgia- Russia war of 2008. Dr Wamala has held cybersecurity engineering, technical, consulting, operational and research positions throughout his career. He holds a practical PhD that focused on the implementation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Dr. Wamala speaks on cybersecurity at conferences worldwide and to media outlets such as the BBC.

She has presented her research at conferences around the world including Shmoocon, Hacker Halted, Security Zone, and Bsides. Mr. P.K.H. Tharakan, who belonged to the Indian Police Service, Kerala cadre, retired from service in January 2007. He served the Government in various capacities including Secretary(R) in the Cabinet Secretariat, Govt of India and Director-General of Police, Kerala. After retirement, he served as Advisor to the Administrative Reforms Commission of India. He was also appointed by the President of India as Advisor to the Governor in 2007-2008 when President’s Rule was imposed in Karnataka. Currently, he is a Member of the National Security Advisory Board and the Advisory Committee of the Centre for Strategic Initiatives at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Department of Geopolitics, Manipal University. He writes on strategic issues and police reforms.

Mohamed Shihab. Advisor (Technical), IMPACT
Mohamed Shihab oversees the technical aspects of the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats’s (IMPACT) work, including intellectual property, consulting and knowledge building capacities. Mr. Shihab is part of the core team that conceptualised and incorporated IMPACT into existence.

In collaboration with security experts, Mr. Shihab manages IMPACT’s technical teams in the design and development of various technology tools, programmes and platforms. He also oversees the development of IMPACT’s products such as the IMPACT Government Security Scorecard System and CIRT-Lite. He is also very involved in development activities with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to roll out various programmes and activities to partner countries as part of the United Nations’/ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA). Mr. Shihab has twenty years of experience in the field of information technology, with particular focus on cybersecurity. He has previously worked as Sales Director of Fujitsu and as Country Manager for StorageTek (for Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei). Mr. Shihab is a graduate in Computer Science from Staffordshire University, U.K..
Alok Vijayant, NTRO, PMO
Director of The National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) – India’s premier apex scientific organization under the National Security Advisor in the Prime Minister’s Office. It was set up in 2004 and also includes the National Institute of Cryptology Research and Development (NICRD), which is first of its kind in Asia.

His career started with Simon Carves where he was involved in construction of a refinery, a fertilizer plant an oil and gas terminal and a boiler. After 5 years with Simon Carves, he joined Det Norske Veritas (DNV) as a Field Engineer for project inspections. Following the introduction of ISO 9000 and its certification, he was one of the pioneers and a prime driver of the new concept of managing businesses. He headed the certification operations of DNV covering Middle East, South and South East Asia with countries starting from Egypt, through Middle East, Iran, India and its neighbors, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. He later headed the internal global business process re-engineering project as Director. After completing 25 years with DNV he joined British Standards Institution(BSI) in July 2006 as the Managing Director for India. He continues to help the Indian industry with the latest standards based management approach that includes Business Continuity Management, Energy Management and more recently Risk management, and he is one of the few experts in this field, having practiced Risk Management in organizations for over 15 years. He has created the BSI’s global courses on Risk Management.
Nandkumar Saravade. Director, Citi Security and Investigative Services, South Asia
Currently responsible for safety and security of Citigroup's staff, assets and reputation in South Asia, as well as investigations for internal/external frauds and information security incidents. Also designated as Chief of Internal Vigilance for India. Till May 2008, served with the elite Indian Police Service (IPS), the last assignment being Director, Cyber Security and Compliance, National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), India’s IT association, on secondment from the Government. Served in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for seven years. Led the Bank Securities and Fraud Cell of CBI at Mumbai for a year. Prior to that, supervised the CBI functioning in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Was the chief of the Mumbai Anti Corruption Branch, CBI’s largest unit in the country, for five years.
Bhadran V K. Associate Director, Resource Centre for Cyber Forensics, C-DAC
Bhadran V K is Associate Director, Resource Centre for Cyber Forensics at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing(CDAC) , under Dept of Information technology, Govt. of India.The Centre has developed various kinds of Cyber Forensic Tools for disk forensics, network forensics and device forensics. Bhadran has been pivotal in establishing the Resource Centre for Cyber Forensics and is currently leading the development activities in network forensics and working on developing an Enterprise Forensics System with advanced capabilities for policy based monitoring and mitigation of malicious activities emanating inside the organization and external threats. Worked in Artificial Intelligence areas such as Expert Systems, Intelligent Tutoring Systems, Natural Language Processing Systems, Machine Translation and Robotics. He is faculty for Network Forensics at various training programs for law enforcement, defense, and corporate organizations. He has spoken at various seminars across India on network forensics and network security and is a regular guest speaker on Cyber Crimes, Network Forensic and Network Security at various Engineering Colleges.Bhadran has also participated in international network forensic workshops where he trained in South East Asian countries, and Mauritius. Basil is an information security professional with over 17 years of experience in IT and Information security. At present he is the CISO for UST Global. In his current 12 year stint in UST Global, he worked in different capacities with multiple projects & clients. Basil played a key role in leading UST Global to BS7799 and ISO 27001 certification. In his current role, he is responsible for the Internal Information Security Compliance and adherence to security policies of UST’s clients. Basil is also responsible for the IT infrastructure Management& Engineering of the entire UST Global. Sandeep is an information security professional. His experience spans the information security, information assurance as well as the information audit domains. In his present role as the Senior Manager for Information Security at Syntel, he is responsible for monitoring the security as well as the security initiatives.
