Alok Joshi IPS

Alok Joshi was chief of Research and Analysis Wing, the external intelligence agency of India. Hailing from Lucknow, he graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University, (JNU), completed his postgraduation in political science and then joined the Indian Police Service (IPS), Haryana cadre in 1976. He rose through his ranks and later in 2005 became the joint director of Intelligence Bureau, the internal intelligence agency of India. In 2010 he was appointed as a Special Secretary at R&AW. He took over as Secretary (R) on 30 December 2012. Joshi and Amitabh Mathur of 1977 batch of Manipur and Tripura, IPS cadre were the main contendants for the top spot. Mathur had joined R&AW in 1981 and switched from IPS to RAS cadre. However the Prime Minister-headed Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (India) chose Joshi over Mathur because of his seniority.

After retirement, Shri. Alok Joshi was brought in as Senior Advisor to the National Technical Research Organisation and currently appointed as its Chairman.

S.D. Shibulal

S.D. Shibulal (Shibu) along with N.R. Narayana Murthy and five others, founded Infosys in 1981. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infosys from 2011 – 2014. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Shibu served as Chief Operating Officer from 2007 - 2011.

Shibu is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals and the Co-chair of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) National Committee on IT, ITES and e-Commerce. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Information and Communication Technology Academy of Kerala and a member of the Board of Trustees of Boston University. He is also a member of the Metropolitan College Dean’s Advisory Board of Boston University. Shibu is a member of the Seoul International Business Advisory Council (SIBAC), The Leaders Council of the International Business Leaders Forum and the Global Corporate Governance Forum’s Private Sector Advisory Group.

Ms. Pang is a Criminology Consultant. Ms. Pang moved to Canada from the United Kingdom after receiving her B.A. Hons. in Developmental Psychology with Cognitive Studies, which included Artificial Intelligence programming. After completing her M.A. Degree in Criminology in Vancouver, Ms. Pang worked in various fields of Criminology, including the British Columbia Forensics Psychiatric Commission, and the National Headquarters of Correctional Services Canada in Ottawa.

Ms. Pang was commissioned by the B.C. Forensic Psychiatric Commission to develop the first comprehensive, “Standards and Guidelines for the Assessment, Treatment and Management of Sex Offenders in British Columbia”. Ms. Pang also has extensive experience in statistical research and policy development, including in the areas of sex offenders, serious offenders, youth gangs, community policing, domestic violence, equity employment, and community outreach.

Ms. Pang is one of the founders of The Society For The Policing Of Cyberspace (POLCYB). Based in Vancouver, Canada, POLCYB is an international society devoted to enhancing international collaboration and private-public partnerships to combat cybercrime. In addition to other consultation projects, Ms. Pang is also the Executive Director of POLCYB.

Ms. Pang was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. The medal was presented to Ms. Pang in recognition of her significant achievements and continuous contributions to the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) mandate of “leading progressive change in policing”.

In the area of Cyber Security, he established the national cyber security capacity building portal for Malaysia – the Cyberguru.my and the lead architect for the national cyber security professional certification scheme known as the Global Accredited Cybersecurity Education (ACE) Scheme. Ashish L. Sawkar

Mr. Sawkar was born in Bangalore, India. He received a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona in 2000, and a Bachelors of Arts with Honors in English Literature and Philosophy from Boston University in 1995. Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Sawkar was an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois.

Riyaz Walikar

Riyaz Walikar is a Web Application Pentester, Security evangelist and researcher. He has been active in the security community for the better part of the last 10 years. He has been actively involved with the Bangalore OWASP and null chapter for the last 7 years and is one of the OWASP and null Bangalore chapter leads.

He is actively involved with Vulnerability Research in popular Web Applications and Network aware services and has disclosed several security issues in popular software like Apache Archiva, Openfire, Joomla!, EJabberd, .NET Script Injection Bypass and has had luck with finding vulnerabilities with popular web applications like Facebook, Twitter, Google, Cisco, Symantec, Mozilla, PayPal, Ebay, Apigee, Yahoo, Adobe, Tumblr, Pinterest etc. for which he is on the Hall of Fame for most of these services. He has also been a speaker and trainer at several security conferences including OWASP AppsecUSA 2012, BlackHat Abu Dhabi 2012, Las Vegas 2015, EU 2015, nullcon 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, DefCon Las Vegas 2016 and c0c0n 2011,2013,2015 and 2016.

Bhavin B. Bhansali

Bhavin B. Bhansali is a cyber security evangelist with over 20 years of combined IT and Information Security work experience. He has recently Co-Founded a specialised cyber security consulting firm - ProgIST Solutions. Bhavin has a BFSI work experience of more than 14 years and was a deputy to the CISO in the Information Security Group of ICICI Bank. Bhavin was responsible for all key areas of information & cyber security including governance, strategy, incident & vulnerability management and security awareness. Prior to joining ICICI Bank, he was part of the Business Continuity and Risk Management practice of Wipro Consulting.

He has played a key role in conceptualising, architecting, implementing and monitoring of various information and cyber security controls including anti-APT solutions, security analytics and threat intelligence systems, active defense and honey pot systems, DMARC anti-phishing framework, data leakage prevention systems, data rights management mechanisms, vulnerability assessment & penetration testing etc.

Samit Anwer

Samit Anwer is a Web and Mobile Application pentester and researcher. He has been active in the security community since the last 3 years soon after completing his Master's degree from IIIT, Delhi in Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing. He is an active member of the Null Bangalore chapter and has spoken on various security topics. He is actively involved with vulnerability research in popular Web and Mobile apps and has responsibly disclosed several security issues with Google Cloud Print API, XSS filter evasion on IE 11/MS Edge, code execution on Microsoft Windows 10, and buffer overflows on MS Edge/IE 11. He currenlty works for Citrix R&D India Pvt. Limited, Bangalore as a Security researcher.

His technical interests lie in using static program analysis techniques to mitigate security and performance issues on mobile/web apps, breaking web/mobile apps, and researching on cutting edge authentication and authorization mechanisms. Rahul (c0dist) is a threat researcher by profession, with keen interest in information security, honeypots, human behavior and everything else related to computers. He has co-authored a spam honeypot (SHIVA) and is a contributor to the Detux Linux sandbox. Rahul co-developed SHIVA honeypot as a GSoC intern for The Honeynet Project.
